Advance information: This is one of Border Liners regular Saturday events where beginners are most welcome. At most of our Saturday events there is usually one hard course, one easier course and one suitable for young children. Courses are open to children, families, beginner adults, runners and experienced orienteers. There will be BL members available to provide advice and at some of the events there may be coaching. Start times are normally between 11 and 12.
Please check this event page nearer the date for more specific details about the event taking place. If you are a newcomer to the sport you can find out more here.
Location: [Bing/OS maps]
Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the event organiser. Runners must download even if they retire so we can be sure everyone is back and that we do not need to start a search and rescue. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Public Liability Insurance
: If you are new to orienteering you are automatically covered by British Orienteering's Public Liability Insurance for a maximum of 3 initial “taster” sessions/events. To continue to be covered by British Orienteering’s Public Liability Insurance after your 3 initial sessions you should join British Orienteering.
