BL Schools League 2012

This will be the 10th year that the BL have run a School’s Orienteering League. In Olympic year it is especially pleasing to note that there will be a School Games (based in Carlisle) on Wednesday 27th June with an Orienteering competition as one of the chosen sports.

League fixtures and venues for 2012 are:

As in previous years there will be an individual and team competition, based on the results from the first 5 events. Points will be awarded (Cumbrian Galoppen style) to individual runners at each event and  individual prizes will be awarded to the Primary and Secondary age group Boys and Girls for the sum of the best 3 scores from 5 events. Team prizes will be awarded as a result of the best 15 scores from the 5 events.
 
A district team will be chosen (made up of 6 boys and 6 girls of Primary age) to represent Carlisle based on performances in the league. Eden District had a single Selection Event, based at QEGS Penrith on 20th April
