More BL success stories: Northern Fells Running Club
Report from Natalie:
Three Border Liners recently cross fertilized and competed in the Northern Fells Running Clubs Fell races on Border Liners home turf.
In the 23 mile Old Crown Round, Karen Parker was 3rd lady overall and 1st WV50.
In the 7 mile Fellside race Raymond Wren was 1st MV70 closely followed by team mate Chris Lates.
It was great to see BL members competing in both these events and supporting Northern Fells Running Club.

BL has a sprint orienteering World Champion in Christine Kiddier, who won Women's 65 at the World Masters Orienteering Championships in Riga, Latvia in early July. It was a slightly hollow victory as almost all classes were voided due to a locked doorway, so no medals were awarded, instead a flower ceremony was held.
Border Liners approaching 50
Border Liners Orienteering Club was formed in 1969, so Autumn 2019 sees the club reach the grand old age of 50 (see club history for further details). We have been providing top class orienteering events in the North & East of Cumbria throughout this period. Our members continue to compete regularly throughout the UK and abroad.
We have created a special logo celebrating our Golden Year which we shall use for the next year or so. Watch out for our special birthday celebration events during 2020.
More success at British Champs
Border Liners ladies saw further success in the British relay championships at Middleton Park, Leeds. Stella Lewsley, Carol Edwards and Christine Kiddier ran to victory in the W60 category, beating South London and Bristol into second and third places respectively.
Border Liners' Karen Parker & Stella Lewsley win their age group classes at the British Champs held at the beginning of May at Kilnsey in the Yorkshire Dales!
